Wheel and Sprocket is a local business that specializes in selling bikes. It is currently run by Noel Kegel and Amelia Kegel, who are the second-generation owners. Wheel and Sprocket is a toast to Wisconsin’s rich bicycle history and it serves as a salute to our scenic bike trail. Wheel and Sprocket offers services that include bike repair, maintenance, fitting, and even rentals.
Chris Kegel was the creator of wheel and sprocket. With strong Wisconsin roots, he grew Wheel and Sprocket into one of the country’s most prominent bicycle retailers.
Throughout Chris’s life he founded organizations and committees, as well as promoting many charity events. The Chris Kegel foundation celebrates the values that Chris exhibited throughout his life.
Chris was so influential that Gov. Scott Walker declared Sept 25, 2016, as Chris Kegel day throughout Wisconsin. In 2016 Chris was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by UW-Milwaukee.
