Historic Streetcar Shelter

The Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail reclaimed history and the era of Milwaukee’s original streetcar system through the restoration and installation of these architectural gems along the Trail. These copper shelters were constructed by City of Milwaukee employees in 1929 and were originally on the Sixteenth Street Viaduct.
