Beavers!

Cleaner water, a more continuous forest and the removal of the North Avenue dam have all created suitable habitat to lure beavers back to the banks of the Milwaukee River. Hikers on trails along the Milwaukee River can see evidence of beaver activity in the form trees chewed in a triangle shape and teeth marks on the base of trees. But don’t expect to spot a beaver outright, as these furry rodents are quite elusive.
